How fast will my broadband go?
This all
depends on a variety of factors such as
distance from the exchange, line quality
and internal wiring. Our availability
checker should give you a good idea on
what speed your line is capable of.
How does
usage work?
During our
peak hours (08:00am to 11:59pm) any usage will
count towards your monthly usage
allowance.
Any additional usage is charged at £1.50
per GB. You may download as much as you
want from 12 midnight to 07:59am free of
charge. You can keep track of your
downloads & usage by viewing our graphs
in your MyAccount. Any additional usage
is charged on your following month's
bill. You also have the option of
upgrading your tariff should you find
that you are exceeding your monthly peak
allowance. Upgrading is free of charge
but is subject to a three month
contract. Downgrading (out of contract)
is subject to a £15.00 one off charge.
Is your
support based within the UK?
Yes! In
fact, all our staff are highly trained
in dealing with broadband & telephone
related issues. Our offices are based in
Cheshire and our aim is to not keep you
waiting on hold for more than 1 minute.
Will my
modem or router support ADSL+ & ADSL2+?
Almost all
routers will support ADSL & ADSL2+ broadband. We
recommend the
BT Voyager or
Thomson Speedtouch range which are
all available from our online shop or
when you place an order. USB Modems are
not supported. If you have any concern,
please give us a call and we'll be more
than happy to help.
I am
already a Vispa Broadband customer. Can
I upgrade?
Certainly
however there is a one off charge of
£15.00 to upgrade.
My line is not with BT and is with an LLU operator?
To transfer your LLU telephone line back to Vispa (BT Network) there is a one off charge of £39.99 inc VAT.
How long is the contract period?
Our contract term is one month and you may cancel at any point by giving us 1 month's notice.
What is VispaTalk and how does it work?
VispaTalk is a 'phone call over broadband' service
from Vispa. You can either use our free VispaTalk PC software with a simple
headset, your own VOIP phone or purchase one from
www.vispashop.com. We recommend the
Siemnens Gigaset Cordless Dect & VOIP phone! The advantage of VispaTalk is that
telephone calls are far cheaper when made over your broadband. Local and
National calls are from as little as 1p & international also starting at 1p.
Cease
charges explained...
A cease
charge of £29.07 will apply if you
either cancel your broadband service
(where BT stops broadband), cancel your
phone line, or move ISP without using a
migration authority code (MAC code).
This charge is simply the opposite to
the broadband activation charge but
should you decide to move ISP, use the
MAC key!
